Simple steps to knowing God; A. Accepting the fact that you are a sinner like everyone else. 1. You must truely desire in your heart to be forgiven of your sins and truely believe that Jesus is the Lord of heaven and of earth; That He was crusified on a cross, died, was buried, and rose again from the dead, and after a period of time He assended into heaven. You must believe that He lives today. And you must be ready and willing to accept the gift of eternal life which He will give you.
2. You must confess aloud that you are a sinner, and ask that Jesus forgive you of your sins...
3. You must ask Him to come into your heart and to change your life, and to be Lord over your life...
4. If you are truely sincere, you will let go of the old self and be "reborn" into the new self.
B. Are you ready for the decision that will change your life forevr??
A simple prayer such as or similar to the following will be necessary to change your life forever. Remember you must be sincere or Jesus will not honor your request. He knows what truely lies in your heart and he can not be fooled.
If your heart's desire is to know God and allow Him to be your Guide forever, say this prayer aloud... "Jesus, I am a sinner and I ask that you please forgive me for all my sins. Please come into my heart and take control of my life. I do not want live a life enslaved to sin any more. I want to be free and to have eternal life with you as my Lord. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you are the only one who can save me. In your name I pray, Amen!
If this is the true desire of you heart, then you will be truely forgiven and Jesus will enter your heart and dwell there and be your personal friend and guide in all that you do.
God Bless you!! But that is not the end. Your new life is just beginning. Just as a newborn child needs nourishment, love and training, now you will need to be fed the milk of scripture, gain knowledge, and experience God's love for you through others.
There are a few important things that you must do.

Next; get a good Bible. I prefer the NIV (New International Version).
Third: You must seek out a Christian Church that teaches the truth from the Bible. Tell the Pastor of your new found faith and ask him to help you or guide you. Attend that church regularly (every week or more often) to learn more about what it means to be a Christian and how to live your life accordingly. It is there where you will be fed the noourishment of the word of God and it will help you grow. You will be loved and encouraged by other christians.
Fourth; you must be Baptised! Full emersion baptism is prefered. It is an ourward expresion of the inward change in you. It is your public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life.
Every day will be a new experience in you life as a Christian. Be faithful to Him and remember, that even if you fail in some things, He will always be faithful to you!
If you need someone to hold you accountable for these things, I will be glad to help from this end, but yu should really find another matured Christian who can be there with you to guide you through the tough times and challenges which inevitably will lie ahead.
